I grew up in West Texas, but had no idea how much it would mean to me someday. Now, it's everything. It's so much more than a place. It's spirit and beauty; it's evidence of a God who loves us. West Texas is very much a part of me, and going back there is like going back to a state of mind that I forgot existed. I photographed all these pretty horses last time I visited my mother in Marfa. They're stunning, but even more importantly, they are West Texas.
